Core objectives:
Lower blood uric acid and reduce the frequency of gout attacks
Graded management of purines
Prohibitions: Foods with extremely high purine content (animal offal, concentrated meat broth, sardines).
Quantity limitation: Foods with moderately high purine content (red meat < 100g per day, seafood once a week).
Recommendations: Foods with low purine content (eggs, low-fat dairy products, most vegetables).
Metabolic regulation
Alkalize the urine: Drink at least 2L of water per day, and lemonade (with a pH > 6.5) can be consumed.
Vitamin C: 500mg per day (kiwifruit, colored peppers), which promotes the excretion of uric acid.
Limit fructose: Avoid sugary beverages and honey, as the metabolism of fructose competitively inhibits the excretion of uric acid.
Management during the acute phase
During the attack period, strictly follow a low-purine diet (purine < 150mg per day), and alcohol is prohibited.
Choose skim milk (300ml per day) to inhibit the deposition of uric acid crystals.
