Core objective:
Promote wound healing, prevent infection, and accelerate recovery
Stage-based nutritional support:
1) 24-48 hours after surgery:
Intestinal rest: Intravenous nutrition or clear liquid diet (rice soup, thin lotus root starch).
Early mobilization: Stimulate gastrointestinal peristalsis to prevent intestinal adhesions.
2) Recovery period (3-7 days):
Progressive diet: Semi-liquid diet (steamed egg custard, minced meat porridge) → soft food (steamed fish, tofu).
3) Key nutrients:
Protein ≥ 1.5 g/kg body weight (to promote collagen synthesis);
Vitamin C (colored bell peppers, kiwifruit) and zinc (oysters) to accelerate wound healing.
Management of special surgeries:
Gastrointestinal surgery: Lactose is prohibited within 2 weeks after surgery (to prevent diarrhea), and a low-fat and low-residue diet should be chosen.
Head and neck surgery: For those with swallowing disorders, thickeners should be used to avoid the risk of aspiration.
